Help me plan a trip to New England (Breweries Requested)

I'll be going to Upstate NY, NH, ME, and MA. I'll be visiting as many breweries as my wife will allow me to, so the list will have to be limited. I can try to hit up a brewery or two on the way, but Dogfish Head is already a dedicated stop, so I'm pretty much relegated to the northeast.

I have a few that are on my list, but I'd like at least three more.

1) Brewery Ommegang
2) Allagash
3) Dogfish Head
4) ?????
5) ?????
6) ?????

Red Hook in NH is not bad, if you support breweries that are partially owned by Anheuser-Busch. Allagash, Gritty's and Geary's all in Portland, ME are good stops. Also Sam Adams in Boston, Haverhill brewery in northeast MA has good beer as well as Cape Ann Brewpub in Gloucester.

Where in Upstate NY, NH, ME and MA will you be going to Dogfish? Did i miss something?

you need to stop off at the portsmouth brewery and allagash. red hook isn't bad. you should really think about stoping at ebenezers pub or lions pride for sure and give yourself at least a good 3 hours. anything less and your gonna feel cheated. and if your gonna be in northern NH drop me a line. i'll crack open something from the cellar

I live in NC, so on the way back we'll pass through and stop off at Dogfish.

My wife studied in Boston for two years so we visiting the Sam Adams brewery on multiple occasions. It's a good tour that caters to everybody and you may even get to try one of their R&D beers. Harpoon is also there but it's a little out of the way.

I would definitely make Portsmouth one of your stops, because it's a great town. Since you're limited, I would pick Portsmouth Brewery over Red Hook. We had an excellent lunch there and it's downtown, which means you can wander around the shops and the water, etc. It won't be a strictly brewery stop.

If you are going to be on the northern part of New England, I would definately check out Sam Adams or Harpoon when in Boston. Portsmouth/Smuttynose as well as Allagash are sure things. Additionally, if you are heading up to the White Mountains (which are awesome this time of year), heck out either Moat Mountain Smokehouse and Brewery (North Conway area) or the Woodstock Inn Station & Brewery (North Woodstock area) - both are great visits with great beer.

If you go to even just one place make it the Portsmouth Brewery. Great beer and food. Always something on cask as well. Bring your AHA card too as they give a 10% discount on beer/food/merchandise.
