Great info Bug. I don't know if I'd learn anything though, I'd always be looking all goo-goo eyed at Ali! Serioulsy, It's great to hear Ali has so much going on. See what a little hard work and an interview on the Brewing Network can do for you.
Enjoy Great Beer!

So, I'm supposidly putting on this fun brew class event. What do you guys want to do? I told Glen I didn't want to teach a bunch of homebrewers more experienced than myself, but there are plenty of other things to learn, like tilling the hopyard or something. Glen has lots of barns full of toys, perhaps a group effort to make Glen a bike-powered mill, or picker. I doubt anyone wants to hear lectures the entire day.

So what do you want at the class, besides lots of beer? And some brewers to come talk? Subjects? I better get on this. The event will most likely be posted on my site (www.organichops.info) before Glen updates his (www.coloradoorganichops.com).

Cheers,
Ali

There is always something to learn in homebrewing... I also want to learn about the hop process from the ground to processing (hands on) I want to grow my own in the future. I'm fairly new to homebrewing (less than a year) and always looking for more knowledge.

Farming and brewing are two totally different avocations. I'm sure even the most experienced brewers could learn agricultural tips from your class.

Harvesting, drying and storage tips would be appreciated by many from what I have seen in addition to the farming part.

I have not bothered to try and grow them in Hawaii because we are way out of the optimal latitude range and figure they would not do well with the shorter solar days we have here.

Might be too late for this year, but maybe you could do a seminar at a NHC conference sometime in the future?

At first glance "organi chops" looked like a free range lamb or pork website to me too.

Ali - Since your expertise is in Growing Hops, and IMO most brewers are fascinated with growing their own, maybe a hands on class on the best way to set up, care for and harvest a hop garden. Maybe with some fun hop related project (like a :nutters: powered hop mill) and brewing session to get out of the classroom.
