yeah....sometimes you just hit the wrong judges....or the judges aren't really good at judging that particular style. I know that the judges were having a rough time with the belgian golden strongs and tripels.

the experimental beer that I entered...which was an english style ale that was made to resemble steamed pudding scored a 38 in AWOG, but it scored a 23 in NYC. Also, the beer that won second BOS in NYC, my american stout, did poorly at AWOG. Its wierd, most of the beers that I though would do well didn't, and the so-so beers did great. My american IPA got dinged for not haveing enough malt character, where if i entered that beer in a west coast competition, it'd kick ass.

That is why Jamil always says, if you really want good feedback, you have you enter the beer into many different competitions.

no....i actually recapped your bottle and put it in a safe spot for BOS. It just meant that the BOS judges didn't get to much of your beer and that the carbonation was mostly gone. On a good note, I think that Scott Bickham judged your brown ale.

True, but my IPA was titled "TBN Starsan Pale Ale"
Too bad my "Beevo Hates JP" Rye beer did not place. That would have been Hilarious.
Great job Booboo and Brew Engineer.
Now who do we rag on next for posting results?

I could have sworn that I listed the BN as my club.

I took third in the English Brown category. (Jamil's SEB recipe) It was my first all-grain and first time I tried a yeast starter and first contest entry.

I am hoping that there were more than three entries in that category. :D

my brother and I laughed our asses off when they called the name of your beer.

the judges dinged my american IPA for not being malty enough...stupid east coast judges and their fixation of a malty american IPA
