Boonville Beerfest 2008

Wed Apr 30, 2008 7:44 pm

HH back from the cruel world of brewpub management to chime in about the Boonville beerfest May 10, 2008 in LOVELY Boonville, California. I gave up my cushy job at Anderson Valley Brewing to relocate with my wife after our wedding last August. I'll spare the details and urge all to head to Mendocino county for the best Beerfest in California. I will be there representing the LumberYard Brewing Company located in Sonora, California with my lovely wife, my bro-in-law and my good friend Jersey Dave. Come check us out and have a great time.

I am finally going to this festival with my lovely wife Kim and my gorgeous liver Stan. Any tips for 1st time Boonville festival goers? We are planning on camping at the fairgrounds...what time should we get there, what should we bring (bbq, etc), best ways to navigate, etc.? I HAVE to try some Lost Abbey and Russian River stuff, but also want to try other beers I can't get here in the No Cal foothills. Any tips for newcomers to this festival would be greatly appreciated. I am going to get my wife a BN army shirt and a hat for myself so we can "make friends".
Please let me know if my response has offended you in some way.

My suggestions for camping etc

get there early
pay attention to where the overhead lighting is in camping area ( never goes off)
get in line for beerfest early ( gets real long)
visit Boonville Lodge Bar and Grill (ask for Tom tell him John sent you) for great drinks and local culture
Take all food and drink you need for after festival to save $$$$
Stop at LumberYard booth and say hi

I will be there representing the Triple Rock Brewery like I did last year. The vinnie puppet might be hiding in my van as he is the brains of Russian River Brewery from the archives.
