DARKNESS DAY: MN/NORTHLAND BN CALL TO ARMS

On October 27, at Surly Brewing Company.
Mnhazmat and I will be there. Lets have a nice strong BNARMY showing. We could even call it a club meeting, if you so fancy.
There will be copious amounts of rare beers and even more rare people.
Metal all day long and general tomfoolery.
Who's with us?
Stand up, and be counted, soldier!

How could you do that when the BN is not a club? You'd have to call it a gathering of random people who've never made contact with one another, and are not associated in any way.

Hope the BNArmy CLUB can make a good showing. Wish it wasn't so far away from me.

Did Surly just post in their fb page?
Are you gonna be in line @ 4?
Homebrew and other beers can be brought to enjoy in line, I believe.
So we can try eachothers brews and get some deed back on em and such.
Almost like a real club! :nutters:

Here's the details from Surly:

Darkness Day 2012 is Near!

On Saturday, October 27, from 11am–6pm, Surly Nation will storm the brewery gates to spend the afternoon at the brewery, drinking great beer, eating great food, and listening to great live music.

Beer: The usuals, plus limited releases and casks, will be poured throughout the afternoon. Beer tokens are $4. Casks and Darkness will be 8 oz. pours, all others will be 12 oz. pours.
Food trucks: Chef Shack, Natedogs, Barrio, Groveland Confections, Caribou Coffee, and more TBA will be serving all afternoon.
Live Music: God Came From Space, We Are Legion, Wolvhammer, and Powermad (our head brewer Todd Haug's band). Set times TBA.

Darkness swag, featuring 2012 Darkness art by Brent Schoonover, will be available for purchase.

Darkness Bottles: 1200 wristbands for Darkness bottles will be handed out prior to the event. Darkness bottles are $18 each, CASH ONLY, with a limit of 6 bottles per wristband. Extra bottles will be available for purchase later in the afternoon. Darkness wristbands will be color-coded. We will be bringing in groups of 150 people at a time. Signs will be posted at the event to let you know when you can enter the building to purchase Darkness. If you miss your allotted time, you will be able to enter later to purchase bottles with any other group.

The Rules:

Must be 21+ to enter unless accompanied by parent. No tickets needed.
DON'T SHOW UP BEFORE 3:30 on Friday! Neighboring businesses will still be open and we want to respect their space and employees.
Any tents/structures that are up during daylight hours will not be allowed.
We will have volunteers helping with the line overnight. Please follow their direction as they can blackball you from the event if you don’t.
As always, be safe and arrange a ride or take a taxi home.

Pro Tip:

The event always thins out later in the afternoon. Come on out in the afternoon to enjoy the free bands and the brewery.

so the $4 dollar tokens assuming that is for 1 beer? not too bad...hmm I need a designated driver...lol

I will be sure to wear our official Brew Club Shirt ;)

All times are UTC - 8 hours
