Had a great time at Stone's 13th! It was great talking beer and grilling with Julian and Patrick Rue! Thanks for the tip on the Panzer you brewed with Lost Abbey Saco, It was really good, a great refreshing beer on a hot day...Cheers assmuncher! I was turned on to Jolly Pumpkin for the first time and was impressed with all three they served. There were 2 beers that stood above all others, IMO. Patrick Rue from the Bruery had one growler of a beer called "Black Tuesday" that was f*ing amazing! A dark Imperial beer with flavors a maple and yams. A very complex, sweet dark beer that is similar to Angel's Share but sweeter and smoother. Also Tomme Arthur from Lost Abbey created a beer especially for Stone 13 called Sangria. (rumor has it some called it "The blood of Christ") It was a blend of twenty (I'm sure an exagerated number) different sour beers with cherries and raspberrys added served with a ladel out of a punch bowl filled with tropical fruit and a block of ice. This beer just blew me away. I really loved this beer with its tartness and many layers of sweet and sour flavors, truely sublime! There's something special about the dry finish, like the Crunchberries in Cap'N Crunch. I'm just sad that this was a one time thing and won't be able to taste that beer ever again.
Enjoy Great Beer!
