Organized events during GABF

Tue Jun 16, 2009 8:29 am

Planning my first trip to GABF this year. I was wondering if there are any organized beer outings during the day times by homebrew clubs, stores or breweries. Other than recover from the nightly sessions, what is there to do during the days between sessions? I'm thinking things like a bus trip and tour of New Belgium Brewery, brewpub crawls, etc.

Thanks!

There are quite a number of events prior to and during GABF. If I remember right, Beer Advocate does a pub crawl the day before. One of the homebrew clubs has an awards dinner that is open to the public. There are pre-festival events at the Falling Rock Taphouse that you should try to hit as it isn't near as crowed as during the festival.

Most importantly, a bunch of BN'rs get together for an informal brewery tour. Last year I went out a full week early. Attended a couple homebrew club meetings in Longmont and Boulder, helped judge/steward a couple competitions, toured half a dozen breweries and had beers at way too many breweries. And this was before we did the BN tour. Lot's to do out there, both brew related and not. If you are into baseball, you can even catch a Rockies game within walking distance of the festival hotels.

Keep tuned to this channel as the time draws near and we can hook you up with things to see and do.

Siebel does a Sensory Analysis Seminar every year on Friday afternoon which I've heard is great. I hope to go this year...
