Washington Brewers Festival

Sat Jun 13, 2009 7:48 pm

So Fathers' Day weekend, the 19th, 20th, and 21st, the Washington Brewers Festival http://www.washingtonbeer.com/wabf.htm will be happening at St. Edward's park in Kenmore, Washington.

Friday is Firkin' Friday and only a small number of people will be allowed to taste some of the northwest's best cask ales. Saturday and Sunday are two full days of tasting. Admission is $20 and you get 6 tastings with entry.

I'll be pouring and hanging out representing Silver City Brewery on Sunday the 21st. If you're a BN'er, stop by and say hey.

Hope to see some of you :asshat: s there!

Cheers!
Greg

I was hoping to go this year but my weekend is too jam packed with other things. I gotta go to a wedding Saturday and the other days are all jacked up too. So I gotta miss out this year.

just got home. rode the bus there, and some dude that worked at the park gave us 18 tokens. soooooooooooo, with those, and all the tokens given to us, i'm feeling pretty good right now.

what a goddamn awesome fest :drink

my awards:

best of show: Black Raven Brown Porter: already a favorite of mine, but it was still my favorite after trying everything there. the epitome of what a good beer is.

darkhorse: Silver City DeluxE Malt Liquor: wtf? why is this so goddamn good? i had to get several samples of it to make sure... but this beer was phenomenally tasty, and unexpectingly so. Coldbraue, you work for a fantastic brewery!

honorable mentions: Hale's Super Mongoose IPA, Firestone Walker DBA (of course), the whole lineup from Northern Lights, and Ellersick Brewing Creamsickle

and I had my first Randall beer today. had Dogfish Head's Aprihop Randalled with hops and dried apricots... and wow was this good.

Dubious awards: Fremont Brewing: seriously? you guys have been open a few months... show up 5hrs late with one mediocre beer, then leave an hour later. you guys are doing it wrong
