not that anyone cares, but we just completed our first offivcial shorts to shorts paddle.
what is it?
we here in antrim county michigan have whats called the chain of lakes, miles of connected lakes that end of dumping into lake MI, our main brewery and pub is at shorts brewing co in bellaire, and our new production facility is in Elk rapids, so on both ends of the chain. This is our fifth year in operation so to commemerate the two places, we decided to do a kayak paddle for our anniversary eve. That was today.
let me tell you, that is an awesome paddle, over 25 miles of paddling and in some rough, i repeat rough water at times, but awesome none the less. I completed it in just under 9 hours, mainly because of waiting for my partner to catch up at different spots.
I dont do a lot of healthy excercise unless hunting/fishing and hiking are involved, but this was a marathon of kayaking, especially since its only the second time ive been in a kayak.
when we got to Elk rapids, we had food and drinks at the new brewery. Tomorrow is our anniversary party, gonna be a doozer. Just thought id give you all a heads up for next year, if you like to kayak or be on the water, come join us. Im absolutely whooped beyond belief, but it feels good to say i did it.
