OC Fair

Mon Apr 20, 2009 10:16 am

Deadline - Friday, June 5, 2009

The judges are not the best but the benefits from entering are nice. Its normally 3 bucks an entry and you get 2 tickets to the fair if you enter. You also get an invite to the tasting party where the winners bring in a sample of their beers. Food is provided and there was more beer last year than we could drink.

I have entered this one in the past, and recommend that LOCALS enter. If you are not a local, don't bother. The feedback has varied in quality from really, really bad to pretty good. The perks of entering are worth the price, free entry into the fair and the brewers reception/awards ceremony. I didn't enter or make it to the party last year, but it is usually a blast! I did help out at the homebrew demo though!

Lars you missed a good party last year. I won 3 or 4 golds and brought in a keg for each of the medals.

Nice work! I may enter this year if I get time to bottle. I've got a Kolsch based on the recipe in BCS that kicks ass! The only problem is I'm drinking it like water, and with it being so hot today, I'm even drinking on a Monday night. I may also enter a mesquite mead that also is very good. But only time will tell if I'm actually able to bottle any of it. That is the one trouble with kegging. I don't have bottles sitting there ready to go.

Yup, I definately agree with the bottling issue. Ive got my CPBF ready and am hitting up all my neighbors for bottles.
