When I booked my NHC room I tried to get it early figuring the anniversary party would be nearby, The Marriot's regular rate was way too expensive so I figured I'd just find another room somewhere for Tuesday night. I'm hoping the party will be somewhere outside Oakland so room rates can be reasonable.

Amen, brotha. Here's hoping for Napa on a Tuesday night.

For all you Bay-area residents: Is it generally cheaper to fly into Oakland or SF?

Not from Bay Area....but always cheaper to OAK, and a lot easier (smaller airport, etc, etc).

Southwest has a pretty good sized hub, so it keeps $$ down....

It's also braindeadly easy and quick to get from Oakland Airport to the convention center

Time to start selling pints of blood to afford a Tuesday night motel in Oakland. . .

City Center Marriott is $249 on Tuesday. That's a little less than half the other four nights I have reserved.
