Re: NHC 1st round just around the corner

I judged in the SW region, which was hosted by QUAFF. They had a nice dinner spread before for everyone involved. The stewards, other judges, and organizers were top notch, but I've come to expect nothing but the best from QUAFF. Those guys rule. :bnarmy:

I think it was about 2 weeks before the conference last year Matt. You'll get a packet in the mail from the AHA with the labels for your Dunkel (congrats by the way) and shipping instructions.

and it's 3 bottles for the 2nd round

Field--

thanks, thanks and thanks! :jnj

I am happy for everyone that got a nice dinner but I would rather have the judges stuffing score sheets and getting them ready for mail before the dinner.

Hi all--

long-time reader/listener first-time poster. I've been looking around a lot and trying to find info on the Final Round. I see June 18 is the date of the judging. But what's the due date of the beers? Is it just showing up at the AHC? Not good if you're not attending  And how many bottles?

Just curious since I actually had a beer make it (3rd place, Munich Dunkel, West Region). I guess dontblake and I will be competing directly :)

I guess I must have overlooked this key info. Can someone point me in the right direction? thanks!

+1 what field said. Hang tight, you'll get something in the mail with instructions. You, at least, have the option to hand carry to a dropoff location. The rest of us schmucks have to ship and that can be hard on a beer.

Congrats by the way Matt. I used JZs recipe - turned out really good, but I'm still surprised that it placed.

That would be Tasty.

I wouldn't take the job if it meant making the entrants wait for their scoresheets. I've spent a lot of time on the homebreweer end of that deal. I have a diligent and loyal crew made up of DOZE members that do all the pre-competition cellaring and post-competition scoresheet sorting. Without their help and dedication, we couldn't get the scoresheets in the mail with in the 3 day target that we set.

I'm very lucky to get assistance from Jamil. Our database is ready the moment the last scoresheet is handed in. If I get busy because of the Longshot release, he steps up and helps me. Just a good guy to have on your team.

Tasty

if only i lived closer to the judging of the northeast judging site, I'd help out. I love helping out with these sort of things too. I guess that I'll just stick to helping with local competitions.

BTW, how many 2nd rounders do you have Tasty? and in what categories?
suck it
