Linden Street Brewery is a short walk from BART. as this is possibly the best way to get there keep there you'll see that there's no real reason to be in Oakland. so if you get your head out of "need to be in Oakland" there are quite a few possibilities.

the real question is where do you want to be on Friday night and Sunday day? the quick survey on Hotels.com list lots of places in downtown San Francisco for under a $70 a night. or book a place at the last minute which might get you a better stay for the same money. the priceline tool shows that there are deals to be had in the $100 night category like Parc 55, Marriot, and Westin. all of those places are near everywhere you want to be: Thirsty Bear, 21a, Magnolia, Toronado. everything listed is by BART.

for gas and all that. it's quite the haul from seattle for an unemployed chap such as myself.

I figured I would fly from Phoenix. I wouldn't mind driving but gas would be more than a plane ticket. However, if I drove, I could bring beer.

hrmm... prices ARE pretty cheap for flights. mayhaps this isn't such a far fetched idear after all. but i've also been informed that my woman will want to attend if i do. though i still wouldn't be against sharing a room with someone if we get a two bed room. will update soon on my status
