Who is up for a Pre-BN Bus Tour - Bus Tour?

Thu May 14, 2009 1:20 pm

Just checked into a few charters. They basically run about $100/hr for a 13 passenger, window-licking van. How about this:

1) Depart Oakland at 10 AM, Tuesday
2) Arrive Bear Republic ~ 11:30
3) 2:00 leave for RR - arrive 2:30
4) 5:00 departure for 21A - arrive 6:00
5) Take BART back to hotel whenever

That would be about $70 a person - if we could fill it. Obviously that is just for transport. You are on your own for everything else.

BDawg and I are doing this trip anyway, with a rental car - if we can't swing the van/bus. It would sure be nice to not have to worry about DUIs.

Vote if you are interested. If we get enough interest, then I will take a few more formal steps.

I may try and meet up with you guys along the way but I can't commit to the all day deal. Plus I want to try and make it to Lagunitas Brewing Company.

Great idea Mylo, but count me out.

I'll be visiting RR and Bear Republic and Downtown Joe's the week after the NHC (without car the NHC week, will have a car the second). Monday is a flying day for us and Tuesday is chilling out in the City - maybe see Magnolia and/or Torando, or maybe just veg during the day. It's my first 2 week vacation in 3 years. Also already have reservations for dinner in North Beach tues nite using the trolley to go back and forth, was going to save the 21A for our last day of the vacation the following Friday.

Slowhead and I arrive on Saturday and plan to visit breweries each day to warm up for BNA4. Not sure I want the comfort of the buss the day before BNA4. The rental car forces me to pace myself and save up for the big events.

Let us know your plans and we may meet up with you that morning as we do want to visit RR.

Don't do that! You'll wish you went to 21A more than once. If you're in town for 2 weeks, 21A deserves at least two visits.

The food is amazing, and the beer, well, look at the size of Sully's head and tell me that doesn't mean the beer is great!

Make sure you call ahead of time. They do not have a tasting room. But if you let them know you're coming they will be glad to show you around and let you do some sampling.
