27th Annual Homebrew Competition

"Belgium Comes to KC"

FRIDAY & SATURDAY

FEBRUARY 19th & 20th 2010

Competition Summary:

* The entry fee is $6 per entry. If you submit 7 or more entries under the same brewer name, the fee is reduced to $5 per entry. Entries are due by Feb. 8th.
* You must submit TWO (2) 10-16 oz. brown or green crown capped bottles.
* Bottles must be free of labels or other identifying markings.
* A copy of the official bottle label, or a reasonable facsimile thereof, must be wrapped around each bottle and secured to the bottle with a rubber band. DO NOT TAPE OR GLUE the label to the bottle.
* A recipe form must be submitted with each entry as well.
Kansas City Bier Meisters’ reserves the right to publish recipes with proper credit given. All forms and fees must accompany the entries. Feel free to copy the form to make as many as you need.

Entries will be judged using the 2008 BJCP Style Guidelines. Entries that do not meet these qualifications may be disqualified. We recommend using United Parcel Service as a shipping agent and that you pad the bottles well and double box. If asked, you are shipping bottles.

FRIDAY Night

* Events Registration & Dinner – Free for judges
* Evening Flight (1st Round) of Beer Judging

SATURDAY

* Judge & Event Registration - Breakfast – Free
* Morning Presentation - Belgian Beer Trip by Geoff Deman & Rick Martin
* Morning Flight (1st Round cont.) of Beer Judging
* Free State Brewery Tour and Beer & Food Pairing Speech ($15) - (Lawerence, KS )
* Best of Show Judging
* Dinner ($25) - Belgian themed dinner catered by a local chef
* Keynote Address by Steven Pauwels (Brewmaster of Boulevard Brewing)
* Package deal (tour and dinner) - $35

In addition to the regular best of show, there will be a mead best of show, an extract best of show, all grain best of show, Belgian style best of show and a female brewer best of show. PM me with any questions.
