It’s only about a month away and the excitement is starting to build toward the 2009 Pacific Brewers Cup, being hosted this year by The Strand Brewers club on September 19th.
Judge/steward registration has been open online since early July at http://www.strandbrewers.org/pbc/index.htm
and entries are due between August 17th and September 4th.
This is the 13th Pacific Brewers Cup and anyone who has been part of this event in the past knows it is one of the most prestigious homebrew competitions of the year. Organizing the Pacific Brewers Cup rotates each year between three area clubs: the Long Beach Homebrewers, Pacific Gravity in Culver City, and the Strand Brewers in the South bay. This year The Strand Brewers are glad to say that the committee for the Pacific Brewers Cup 2009 is being headed up by BJCP Master Judge, Jim Wilson.
The Strand Brewers are determined to make the 2009 Pacific Brewers Cup the best one ever, and have reserved facilities at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in El Segundo, CA to hold the judging on September 19th. Expect some excellent homebrew entries, an elegant banquet room setting, a relaxed comfortable atmosphere, and a tasty catered lunch.

One reason we chose that location is that it is right off the 405 freeway, just a block west of the Mariposa station of the MTA’s Green Line. Plenty of free parking.
