Re: Congrats to Mike Mraz for Cal Homebrewer of the year...

I got my sheets the otherday (beat the More Beer Forum comp by one day), and I have to admit that most of these sheets had very little information (kudos to Nicole of the Army for well written and complete sheets). Why does the Cal Comp think that they are above the BJCP and use these outdated sheets/scoring system. I think the different values confuse the judges.
On a side note, as a Recognized Judge (I hope I did better on the test taken in October), I do strive the judge any beer to the best of my ability, and we have no idea who's beer we are tasting. The sheets should be written clearly, and the information should be helpful.

Congrats, Mike-

I totally agree that the judging sheets need to be the best quality that they can be.
People are coughing up MONEY to enter these competitions. They deserve to get feedback worthy of the fees at the very least. If I can help them to figure out what's ailing their ales, then I've done my job.

(And I have absolutely no idea whose beer it is that I'm judging when I judge it.)
