Should Brewcasters be allowed in the community brews?

Hell yeah... they're part of the community too - they just can't judge the finals if they make it to the finals.

Why not... they're part of the community too - they just can't judge the finals if they enter a beer.

If the beers are judged aonymously on the air --- does it matter? Have whomever is forwarding the final entries code each entry and either be in the chat room or call in with the results ...... or (gasp) mail the entry codes in a sealed envelope. Brewer's code -- they don't open it until the judging is done.

BTW -- is there a date set for the entries or did I join the party too late??

The initial target for shipping is mid-September. Since this beer needs a little age on it - I would say get going as soon as possible.

To Junket's comment - I had intended to suggest in my last post that I think that the brewcaster beer should not be distributed to multiple tasting groups, but maybe should be cycled around the country - so that each geographic region eventually gets to taste and judge the brewcaster's beer. It's a mini NHC kinda model - regions first - then finals. I wouldn't want to make a special exception for the "brewcaster" region and split them across multiple tasting groups. It doesn't seem like it would be fair that way.
