That's pretty standard - they group them by category. So all the normal belgians (cat 16) are judged together, and all the belgian strongs (cat 18) are judged together.

Speaking of Belgians, I had a Saison get a 43 and not place. Hooray mini BOS. :roll: :lol:

i had 4 beers entered... received a 3rd place ribbon in the stout category with my russian imperial stout(37 point), and a 2nd place with my Black Ipa(40 point) in the specialty category... other two beers didn't place but i expected that... As my first comp I was pleased, though i have been brewing for 6 years now....
beer is my way of living...
