Bud Brewed Rolling Rock

I've never been a rolling rock fan. It had it's own particular flavor though, I'll give it that. I was out at a bar that carries many of the local micros, as well as a few macros. Anyway, there were these two girls dressed in rolling rock gear handing out beer and green fez hats. I was the only one at my table that knew that rolling rock had been sold to Budweiser. After I shared that fact, we all simply viewed the beer girls as Budweiser girls, and left it at that.

Anyway, they came over and bothered us, and being curious I accepted a bottle of bud-brewed-rolling rock. The price was right, but man was that beer bad. It's been a few years since I've had a bud, but it tasted just like how I remember Budweiser tasting.

Yuk. While I never really liked Rolling Rock, at least it had it's own special characteristics....now it's just Budweiser in a green bottle. Anyone else had this experience?

Rolling Rock was my first baby step on my journey away from AB. It is like I lost a good friend. Danella leaves and now this. A guy can only take so much.

I agree with never being a huge latrobe brewed fan, but this st louis brewed version is not what used to be brewed in pennsylvania. It definitely tasted like bud in a green bottle.

Bastards!

The Latrobe stuff was not better. When they changed the process, they had to search to find the "skunky" taste once more.

I know a lot of folks like RR, but it's always been a "digestive" problem for me, since College days.

Good-by and good riddins' RR. I'll stick to double IPAs.
