Dupont Biere de Miel

750 ml green champagne style bottle. Corked and caged. Cryptic date code on front label, 2003 date on cork. Loud pop released the cork. Poured out a deeper shade of a golden yellow, with a major chill haze. Aromas are of corriander right off the bat, along with a background clover honey note. Slight barnyard, musty basement aroma as well. Tastes are of barnyard, slight Brettanomyces funk, subdued honey flavors, and an earthy hops bitterness. Medium mouthfeel, along with a peppery bite make for an interesting combination. Hops are subdued, but bitter all the same. Very effervescent, highly carbonated. Prickly on the tongue, leaves a certain bite in it’s wake. A decent Saison from Belgium, that much is certain.
