12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. Freshness date is of 25 Mar 2004. Poured out a very dark chocolate brown color, with a foamy tan head that clung tightly to the sides of the glass. Aromas are of yeasty bread, vanilla beans, a slight amount of oakiness to it as well. Roasty, expresso notes, along with a spicy hop aroma in the mix. Creamy mouthfeel was rather thin. Not thick and chewy as you might expect. The aromas change as the beer warms up. The tastes are of roasted malt, some coffee, some vanilla and oak barrel, bready yeast, and a decent hops bite in the finish. Slightly warming, but no alcohol notes or flavors. A decent, if hard to find stout.
