De Dolle Stille Nacht

11.6 oz. slender brown bottle. This beer is 12 % ABV, not 8 %. Poured out a hazy apricot color, with not much head, probably due to the extremely high ABV. Cloudy from the yeast sediment swirled up by myself. I wanted all the flavors this beer has to offer. Aromas are of medicinal phenols, candi sugar, Belgian yeast, and caramel malts. Smells like a caramel apple. Fruity, aromatic, and it changes as the beer warms up. Slight aromas of Nugget hops way off in the background. Tastes of caramel malts, slight biscuity taste as well. Hops make a sharp but brief appearance in the middle of the taste, but the malts & alcohol simply overpower it. Stinging, peppery alcohol bite to it as well. Finishes dry, and sweet, but not cloying at all. Lingers on the tongue for quite awhile. This is a beer you can only drink one of, and a small one at that.
