Clipper City Heavy Seas Small Craft Warning

Sun Jun 26, 2005 1:45 pm

12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. Fresh before June 05 on label. Poured out a darker shade of straw yellow. It has a thin, fast fading white head, that left a slight layer of frothy foam on top of the beer itself. Aromas are mostly of lager yeasts, slightly musty. Some lemony aromas here, not appropiate for the style. My guess is that they used stale grain to brew this beer. Medium mouthfeel, nothing special there. Finished too lemony for my liking. Needs serious work, and fresher ingredients.
