Abbaye des Rocs La Montagnarde

33 cl. brown, slender bottle. Best before date is of 3/2006. Still pretty fresh, too. Poured out a hazy orangish copper color, with a thick, tan colored head. The head stuck around until the bottom of the glass. Aromas are of spiced oranges, some cloves, and strangely enough, pineapples. Malts are strong, but subdued. Hops are practically non-existant, both in aromas and flavors. Chunky yeast bits floating in the mix. Highly carbonated, almost too much so. Sweet tasting, almost like a soda. Not cloying, but sweet on the palate. Medium mouthfeel and sweet finish to it as well. An ok Belgian, but nothing special in my book.
