Following up on my previous post..... the recipe is two posts up.

My No. German Alt won 1st place at the Oaktoberfest in the Alt/Amber category!!

It scored a 38 in the finals with overall comments like, "Delicious crisp refreshing drinkable beer. Please send a keg." and "pushing the limits of the style in regards to the hops and the dark malts" and "more of a Dusseldorf Alt in the malt complexity, would be 40 points there"

I was very happy with the results and the beer. If I were to brew it again, I would eliminate the caramunich and cut back on the time for the magnum hops.

Kind of an old thread, but did you ever make your Alaskan Amber clone? If so, how did it come out? I bought some when I was in Denver a few months ago and loved it. Unfortunately, Alaskan isn't distributed in Missouri.
