Well I tried this recipe I got on line a while back, a guy duplicated my favorite brew of all time Sam Adams honey porter. All went pretty well but the color was way light, more like a dark ale as opposed to a porter. Any suggestions? Or corrections.
Original recipe:
10# 2-row Klags malt
8 oz Crystal 90L malt
4 oz Choc. malt
8 oz Honey (last few mins. of boil)
1/2 tsp.Irish moss
1.5 oz Fuggles hop pellets (60 min.)
1/2 oz. Fuggles hop pellets (end of boil)
Wyeast 1098
Conversion with help from Byron Birch at my local supply house
6# light dry malt
8 oz. crystal 90L malt (mini mash)
4 oz. Choc. malt (mini mash)
rest of recipe same as above
Oh yeah, first to post here
