This was such a hit at this year's annual latke and vodka party that my wife and I put on that I wanted to share here too. Yes, it's extract, and it tastes damn good. I think for next year I'm going to turn it up to a winter warmer. If you do brew this, I'd love feedback.

Notes
This winter ale has a fantastic cinnamon honey aroma, medium body and great mouthfeel. A perfect blend of spices that pleases without overwhelming.
1) Steep specialty grains for 30 min at 155F.
2) Remove from heat.
3) Remove grains from pot and stir in DME and honey until dissolved.
4) Place back on heat and bring to rolling boil.
5) Add bittering hops.
6) Boil 45 min then add cinnamon sticks, nutmeg and orange peel.**
7) Boil 5 min then add Whirlfloc.
7) Boil additional 10 min then crash temp to below 80F to prepare for pitching yeast.
**Use dried bitter orange peel.
