Black IPA..New style at NHC??

I heard alot of people say that the Black IPA/Cascadian Dark Ale was the newest style this past year at the GABF.

Does this mean it will be a style catagory at the NHC?

I dont see it in the guidelines yet...Anyone know?

I would guess not until the new BJCP guidelines come out...2012 maybe?

It will not be a style at the 2011 NHC, which will use the 2008 BJCP guidelines.

I would love to see them add a Wild Ales category as well. Not all sour beers are lambics, gueuze, berliners, or flanders reds/browns. Belgian Specialty and Specialty Cats simply don't do them justice either. Now make the change will ya?

And Gose. Definitely a bonafide "classic style" compared to black IPA/CDA vogue.

There are only two Gose being brewed around Leipzig and one of them is pretty dumbed down. It is not a major style.

What really matters though is what are home brewers entering?

And how many breweries in Germany are putting out Berliner Weisse? Wikipedia tells me two and they are both owned by the same company. I get that there are not many Gose being produced but if you're going to add styles to the guidelines start by adding those that have a history and not those that are still in their infancy.
