I did not want to make anything anywhere near close to what bud or miller do. I wanted to keep the ibu's around the same and have not quite configured my hop additions yet or what hops to even use in this beer, maybe tetenagg (sp) something rather nobel as they would say I guess, any suggestions? here is what I was thinking for the grain bill



8# 2row (english muttons because thats what I have)

.5# crystal 60 ( I want to impart some type of flavor to it I have other options, but I thought this would suit best)

1# flaked corn



I was kind of thinking about leaving the corn out and upping the other 2 grains up by 1/2 lb.

Why not go for something along the lines of a Deschutes' Twilight Ale (granted, it's an Ale, but I think it's close to what you are contemplating). I don't have any clone recipe for that beer but I can tell you it's tasty as hell and a real refreshing one in the summer. It has become my summer time go-to beer, in fact.

This should put you in the ballpark for a Twilight-type beer, which is a Cream Ale, and can be brewed with either Lager or (clean) Ale yeast:

(Assuming 70% efficiency -- more or less base malt to hit OG target of 1.052)

9 lbs Pale Ale Malt
1/2 lb Crystal 30
1 lb Flaked Maize

Hops:
1.5 oz Mt. Hood 4% (or Sterling, or Crystal, or Liberty, or Hallertaur) at 60mins
1 oz Centennial 8& @ 10 mins
1 oz Amarillo at 0 mins

Aim for a total of around 27 IBUs, by adjusting the bittering addition up or down according to the actual AA of the hops you actually buy.

1 tsp Irish Moss/whirlfloc at 10 mins.

Yeast:
You could either go 1056/001/US-05 OR use a clean American or Mexican lager yeast, your choice.

Single infusion mash around 151F.
