JZ's Maibock

Tue Apr 20, 2010 6:08 pm

I know... I know... 10 days early!
But, my back is killing me and I couldn't wait til May 1st!

Still a bit early, but the first test, very nice, and this one finished at FG = 1.015 :)
I split the batch, and this was the W34/70 dry yeast version.
Had a little fruity, malty flavor, almost like a Fat Tire flavor...?
I assume the Pils/Munich along with W34/70...

Very good... and numbed the back a bit!

So... tonight I tried the WY2124 version. What a nice, clean 6.5% beer!

Slightly cleaner, less fruity, more balanced, a bit more hop presence. IBU seemed higher, and had a dryer finish.

This weekend, I will try for a side by side...
