Need a good recipe for 1st time AG attempt

Hey all. Doing my first AG batch today. Want a good Ale recipe for the first time so I can focus on the techniqe and not the recipe - needs to be a good proven recipe. I think I am obsessing too much on the recipe.

I am guessing 10 Lbs 2 Row, and 1 pound 60L. Use Crystal and Cascade hops, and 1056 for the yeast.

Any ideas for a good proven recipe? Brewing in 6 hours......... (2pm PST 8-17)

Thanks!

You outlined a pretty good recipe by yourself:

10 lbs 2 row
1 Lb Crystal 60L

1.5 oz Cascade 60 min
1 oz Cascade 15 min
1 oz Crystal 5 mins
1 oz Cascade 2 mins

Whirlfloc or Irish Moss @ 15 mins
Wyeast 1056

Single infusion Mash 152F

Very simple, very quaffable American Pale Ale

Should give you about a 1.052 OG at 70% efficiency
at 75% it'll be closer to 1.060.

Best of luck! Let us know how it goes!

Thanks

Hey Slightly Carbonated. I highly recommend the "BeerSmith" software. I love it. It takes care of a lot of the guess work and aids in all areas of brewing. I think it was only $20. All the information below came from it when I designed my first all grain batch. Format sucks when pasting this in. Take care!
