I just kegged my Tasty APA last night and I am in awe. How could such small amounts of hops add up to such mindblowing aroma and flavour??

Tasty, you're a genius.

Hop layering over a beer backbone supported by Pilsner malt. Of course. :)

Hey Tasty,

have you brewed your Dort with Nelson Sauvin yet? I'll be brewing a DE in November, and have more Sauvin in the fridge than I know what to do with...

Cheers fella

In fact, I have. The hop seemed to dominate the beer and override the natural "wine-like" character that I was thinking would go good with that hop. I still think it's worth pursuing. Next time I'll just use the Nelson in the finish.

Thanks for the Dortmunder recipe! That'll be next on my list of batches. .

I also thank you Tasty for the Dortmunder recipie, would you use like 2oz of Hallertau @ flame out if your not using a hopback?

Thanks again, I've enjoyed all your recipies I've tried. (Tasty APA & JB so far) keep it up.
Where did time go?

On tap- Munich Helles, Janet's Brown, Lagunitas IPA clone
Fermenting- Nelson Sauvin/ Summit IPA
Kegged- Orange/Cascade, Brutal Bitter Clone

I've noticed that I don't get any significant amount of hop flavor and aroma when I use just my hopback on beers that I don't go on to dryhop. At least the way my hopback process works. A flameout addition is going to add significantly more aroma and flavor the degree depending on how long the hops are in the whirlpool. Not that it's a bad thing, it's just not that typical of a Dortmunder and would be problematic in a competition. Style compliance aside, I think a flameout addition would be a good thing to try.
