i'm gonna brew jamil's recipe and was wondering if anyone has tried a decoction. i know that the risk is too much melanoidin formation and i know that his recipe is already more malt complex most. i'm just wondering because my younger brother will brewing with me and i'd really like to punish him if it won't detract from my beer. i'm thinking i'll say "shut your f'n piehole and keep stirring bitch before you ruin the beer!" any thoughts?

I did a triple decoction once with my homebrew club. Definitely punishment.

I don't think it will ruin the beer, but it will definitely be punishment for whomever has to stir.
