Shiner Bock?

What would the style of Shiner Bock be. I have a friend who loves the stuff and I am trying to clone it and am having trouble zeroing in on the style any help would be appreciated.

It is an American Dark Lager.

Ask me nice and I will provide you with my attempt at a clone of Shiner Bock. It scored an average of 30 (with the caveat that it is too roasty and too dark for the style, but Janis Gross thought it was good anyway) in Dixie Cup and Nationals.

I thought your "brand" was Lone Star???

Alright. I actually think the Black isn't THAT bad. And the Hefe is decent - probably more so for the label. But that Bock sucks... I stand by my word.

I am a UT grad, and there was nothing better than a burger and a pitcher of Shiner Bock at Posse East after class. And it is still the best beer in a can. At least until Sully gets his stuff in Texas.

(Trying to remember the passive/aggressive things the "I'm a Homebrewer" used so I can use it on Mylo. I'll replace this later.)

It was originally called Flatonia Bock because Flatonia is close to Shiner. After tasting, I changed the name to Paint Rock Bock because Paint Rock is nowhere near Shiner. . .

5 gal batch 60% efficiency (yes, 60 %)
OG 1041 (shooting for 1042)
3# US 6 row
3# Vienna
2.5# Flaked corn
1# Crystal 60L
.5# roasted barley (I may omit this next time I brew it)
1 0z Northern Brewer 5.7%/60 min
WLP060 American Ale Blend
I mashed at 154F for an hour, and fermented at around 69. I have no temp control.

Most of the judges comments were "Nice Beer. Out of Style."
