Columbus = Cousin?

Sun Jul 19, 2009 6:18 pm

So I've heard Tasty and others saying that Columbus hops create a flavor and aroma profile like a nice batch of the cousin, but I haven't been able to create the same effect. What's the secret?

Lots of hops especially post boil.

Gotta love it.

I like the cousin like flavor of Hazed & Infused. Their site says its dry hopped with Crystal and Centennial. So maybe try a mix.

I've tried an all late-hop Blonde ale with 2oz Columbus in the last 10 minutes, but nothing in IPA range. Thanks for the advice!

I'm not sure if it is just "wishful smelling", but the ESB I dry hopped with Styrian Goldings hops has a real cousin aroma to it.
