I'm gonna play with it next time. Jamil had a recipe in BYO a couple months ago. i wonder if it was the same recipe.

Funny thing is, the color range per BJCP is 9-18 SRM. Mine comes in at 17.7 with adjusted efficiency (75.something% and lovibond input). I may drop the Roasted Barley down to 1% next time.

Personally, I think BCS is a touch dark for the style, even if the flavor is on.

I always shoot for about 14 SRM for a Red color, anything 16+ is more brown.

I brewed the BCS Irish Red and it's on the red-side of Coke in colour. Tastes pretty damn nice. It's being entered into a comp on Saturday so we'll see how it goes.

It looked very brown at kegging time but as it cleared it got redder.
