Fri Feb 08, 2008 11:30 pm

Here is a cool video I found on youtube about how commercial hop farmers harvest hops.

Warning!!!!
If you have a heart condition you may not want to watch this!
All of these hops are going to AB!!!

Does not seem right that AB would use that many hops in there micro swill.
I sure would like to run naked through those hops, thats of course if JP was not around.

Those are the hops for AB's 17 breweries nationwide, but did anyone catch the type of hops that they were? I didn't hear the strain identified in the segment.

Though I'm pretty sure that a couple of us could sneak out a few of those bails pretty easy...

I'm pretty sure I heard something about the Willamette Valley - so I figured Willamette hops (not a big stretch for a short busser like me).

psst... A HUGE percentage of American hops are grown in the Willamette Valley, not just Willamette hops.

New Video

Fri Feb 22, 2008 10:59 am

I figured I would just add on to this thread.

Here is a video of a 1972 tv commercial for Country Club Malt Liquor. Where they advertise that they use LESS hops then other beer makers so it isn't as bitter. And they use less carbonation to keep it from filling you up. This si from the era of when malt liquor was first being introduced and marketed towards upper income beer drinkers.

Its funny the guy just walks around looking for a place to dump out his beer.
