Hop rhizome release date

I just checked with Freshops and they don't have the rhizomes released into their cart for ordering. Northernbrewer has them for pre-order, but they charge much more than Freshops.

I wrote Freshops to see if they know when they will open the cart for orders, but I haven't heard back yet. I imagine that they are busy.

I wonder if they can take the hot summer sun here in Florida.

If Freshops starts selling, can someone please reply to this thread to let us all know?

Well, no sooner did I post than Dave Wills from Freshops wrote me:

We will start taking orders for hop rhizomes after the first day of Spring- March 21st. Check back to freshops.com after that date to see a complete list of varieties available. Thanks for your inquiry.

So mark your calendars.

As for the question of surviving in the heat of Fla, oh yeah, they'll love it. Just be sure to keep them watered good if you're in the drier parts. I use Miracle Grow to get mine rolling. I had 17 to 19 foot vines in the first year. I got a shit load of good hops from them too. Here are the pics of them after only 3 months in the ground their first year.
