Hop Blending

I'll be soon brewing an IPA and would like to use several different variety of US, English and German hops I have on hand. Are there any hop combinations I should avoid?

I usually try to stick to themes or groups when picking combinations of hops. Seems like lots of pairs go together well, but when you add that third or fourth component it just gets muddled.

I think of hops in these rough groups:
earthy (N. Brewer, fuggle & goldings early in the boil)
floral/citrus (all C-hops, fuggle & golding late in the boil)
spicy (all continental hops)
neutral (Magnum, Galena)

Pick any two!
