Breakfast Cereal

I was reading somewhere about people making beer using sweetened breakfast cereal. I was thinking about it this morning as I was eating my breakfast and noticed how the cereal pretty much dissolves after soaking awhile. I expect this would be moreso in a hour long hot mash. How in the world would you ever get that to run clear as you run off into your boil kettle? I would think that would be some murky beer.

Mort you should try my Captain Crunch Stout. Its all that and a handful of crunchberries. On a more serious note, I think that you could toss in some shredded wheat plugs in the mash and take advantage of its ability to stay hard as wire. It may even make it thru the mash and aid in drainage during the lautering step.

I had a buddy that made a Fruit Loop Pale ale he said it turned out pink. But he hasn't brewed it in a while and I never tasted it so I can't say what it was like.
A coworker who is from a farming backround was going to take some 4grain with molassas cereal he grew up on and was talking about making a beer from it, but we haven't heard how it went.
