BN'ers,
I have begun adding finings directly into the fermentor after fermentation has completed (just about the time I start cold crashing). After 1-2 days of this, I rake the beer off into a keg and therefore only a minimal amount of yeast/material makes it to the keg.
Here's my question: if I've added gelatin or something like biofine clear to the beer when it is in primary, is it possible to salvage the yeast afterwards for a repitch? I'm just concerned that the fining is now interspersed in the yeast cake and that might have a negative impact on either a starter, or worse yet, a direct repitch.
Any one have any experience with this?
Thanks!
