Re: Anyone use Palisades hops?

I used them as the single hop in an APA I made a couple of weekends ago, I'm kegging that this weekend, so it should be drinkable in another 2 weeks .. I'll try to remember to repost then
On tap 1: Dry Irish
On tap 2: El Jefeweizen
On tap 3: Vienna
kegged: Rye Amber, Belgian Dark Strong, CYBI Mirror Pond, Irish Red, RIS
lagering: Vienna, Helles, Cream Ale, CAP

This is the best article with them I've read yet. I should try them in a simple APA. I think using it as the only hop in a IPA may be a bit much.

As for my own tastes I get earthy with a almost metallic-like lingering. I think it complements dark malts well.

Wow that guy doesn't like the "return" or "tab" keys, does he? Hehehe, thanks for sharing that, that was a cool article. When I make my two IIPA's with Palisades, I'll repost and let you all know how they taste.
Cheers!

Black Raven Brewing down the street from me uses them as a late hop addition for their brown porter. I have personally never brewed with these hops, but that beer is one of the finest, tastiest beers of any brewery in the Seattle area.

I picked up a growler of the Black Raven IPA last weekend. Not bad. They were down to only 6 kegs of the brown porter so I couldn't get one of that. I did taste a sample and it was a very, very nice beer. I am VERY happy to see that we have another great new brewery to add to the Seattle brewery repertoire.

Now that we have the passage of SB5060, the next step is to try to get the NHC up here in a few years so all you asshats get a chance to sample our stuff!

that first run of IPA was more of a test run, he didn't add all the hop additions as he was still getting a feel for how his new system kicked stuff out. the new batch is dry hopped (the first wasn't), and it made a huge difference. I already liked it, but now it's probably my favorite local IPA. Their new dry stout rivals snoqualmie's believe it or not.

Snoqualmie's Oatmeal Stout is off the charts good. I've never had a better one, even Shakespeare on tap under nitro at Rogue isn't quite as good (close but just not quite). Deschute's Obsidian is way up there, too, BTW.

I've used up most of my pound now, mostly just for bittering both ales and lagers. It has a nice solid, peppery, lingering bitterness. I will have to get more.
