Newport hops...???

Sat Sep 29, 2007 7:05 am

I have found some Newport hops in the back of the frezer, what are they most like or a ''replacement '' for? Is there a style of beer they are better in?

Thanks
Tim

I've never used them, but according to Brew Monkey (a sponsor of the BN, I think) it is a high alpha bittering hop, very new variety, Possible Substitutions Galena, Nugget, Fuggle, Magnum, Brewer's Gold. Typical use: bittering in ales, stouts, barleywine.
What's on tap: Cream Ale, Imperial Blonde
Secondary: British Amber,
Primary: APA
