Oregon Blueberries in light syrup??

Thu Aug 09, 2007 11:06 am

Anyone ever use the blueberry in light syrup cans?? I'm assuming these are not the same as the puree. I plan on doing a 1/2 batch using fresh blueberries and another 1/2 using puree, to see what flavors I get. BN out.

Never used them but I think it would be interesting. I've gotta imagine the light "syrup" is corn sugar or some other highly fermentable so I'd definitely take that into account when deciding how to incorporate them into your brew. I'd probably consider adding either end of boil or towards the end of fermentation before I'd consider conditioning on them!
