Maris Otter Specs - Typical Analysis

Wed Aug 16, 2006 5:27 pm

I have been corresponding with the folks at Munton's and they have kindly sent me the typical analysis for Maris Otter malt. I requested it so I could update my ProMash grain database. I post it here so others may do the same.

Of course grain crops and malting varies, but this data is no less reliable than the grain data already in BeerSmith, ProMash, qBrew or whatever.

This is an odd number for total soluble nitrogen. Usually this is 36-46% of the protein content.

Do they also give out analysis data based on the lot number. E.g. you buy a bag of malt and know which lot it came from.

I still have to ask the guys at Weyermann if they can give me lot analysis data for bags of malt that I bought or plan to buy. Not that I really have enough experience to adjust my mashing to analysis data. I'm just curious.

I have Weyermann average malt analysis data for the 2005 crop if anybody ist interested.
