Bottling tricks

So I have been kegging for some time now but I recently brewed a batch for a fellow I work with. Of coarse this meant I would once again have to bottle. I came up with a couple time saving tricks that I thought I would share.

Simply clip off the handle of the brush and chuck it up. Works great for those bottles that didn't great rinsed.

These other intended use for the baby gate! Works great to dry bottles before sanitization.

I agree that the bottle drill is a good idea. It's been a staple of my bottling day for almost 12 years now. I just never thought that there was any other way. Now the baby gate, that's a good one. I have also seen some people use the racks in their dishwashers. Run a sanitizer cycle through it then you can use them. I used a bottle tree that I was given for X-mas. I recommend getting one of those if you can. Keeps all the water in the tray and has a sprayer for the final Star San squirt right before you bottle.

I haven't used my bottling brush in years. Any bottle that would need one gets tossed in the recycle bin.

Don't you guys get enough of a flow of bottle through your house that you don't need to spend the time/worry dicking around with the crusy ones?

tell you what, volunteer at a nearby contest and you can take all the clean, rinsed bottles home that you want. between that and the occasional sixpacks I buy, there are plenty flowing through here.

Oh, and I should be DOTW, but no show. boo hoo!

Overnight soak in PBW, blast with the bottle washer, and the bottles are clean. I've taken absolutely nasty bottles and gotten them good as new that way with no scrubbing.
