Does this just happen to me?

Am I the only one who gets a really over carbonated beer on the first pour of the evening? I think my regulator is not very good. The first beer pours really crazy foamy, but subsequent ones pour really well. My regulator came along with a kegerator purchase and I doubt it's quality.

it could be partially temp related. The faucet is cooled by the first pour, so the first pull releases all the co2. Subsequent ones are going through a colder line/faucet, so no warming/co2 release.
Also, there could be co2 building up in the beer line overnight. First pour could come through with a lot of extra gas. Does it sputter on first pour?

I've never noticed it sputtering.

I've had this problem too, which always thought was due to the temperature. I use a keeper and I think the bottom is colder than the top so the beer in the line warms up a bit when not in use.
