one keg fast one slow

I am new to kegging and have 2 corny kegs. They have the same length lines and have picnic taps. I have pressure set at 12 psi at 40 degrees. one regulator with a 3 way splitter, eventually for a third keg. I have one beer fully carbed and it comes racing out too fast. I can get a good beer but too much head. I know thats not possible in other situations. The other has been hooked up for 6 days and comes trickling out. I have checked for clogs. Any ideas.

It's gotta be clogged.
Disassemble everything, even your connectors. All it takes is a little bit of hop matter and you're screwed.

I did. All clear, still foam.

How long is the line for the picnic tap? You need to balance the system so that the beer is at ~1 psi when it exits the tap to avoid excessive foaming. Otherwise you will have to turn down the pressure to dispense. For the one that trickles, have you isolated the keg? Is it pressurizing? Disconnect and shut off the gas to the other keg and see if it helps. Or you can switch the gas lines from the gusher keg. There may be a problem in your manifold.

I just tried that. Thanks for the advice. No go. Is it possible that there may be an issue with the poppet?

If you have an incorrect poppet (ie. too long) it could cause the quick disconnect not to fully engage the poppet. You would, most likely, be able to tell if this was happening though because it would be very difficult to seat the q
quick disconnect.
I would say that taking the posts off and checking the poppets for correct size or hop material stuck would be the way to beer.

OK so I narrowed this down to the out line. I switched lines and the other line from the other keg works fine. I took the faulty line apart and checked everthing but it all looks in order. I'm wondering what weenie boy means by the poppet being too short/long. I put the faulty line on the other keg and sure enough it started foaming so somewhere in the quick disconnect unit there is a problem. Do I just buy a new one and forget it or are there any ideas out there?

You can take the disconnects appart using a standard screwdriver and check for any material.
