I planned on leaving it until the keg was empty. The way this IPA tastes, it won't be too long! I've left other beers on the dry hops for quite a long time without any grassy-ness, so I'm not too concerned. But if it starts to taste grassy I may pull it out.

The grassyness seems to vary with the variety of hops and how well dried they are. I don't get the hop dust problem when I dry hop. I use knee high nylon stockings. They are much finer mesh than the muslin hop bags. I hang them in the keg with regular unwaxed dental floss and the keg seals just fine over the floss.

I used a polyester Voile bag. I think I only got hop "dust" through because I was using pellets and things got pretty shaken around. The nylon stocking would solve the problem and so would treating your keg witha bit more respect than me :)

Thanks for the hint about the grassyness Wayne. I did have some whole flower hops in there as well.... home grown ones that might not have been as well dried as they should.

If I do it again (probably wont, I'm not that big a hop head) I will use the stocking.
